Very pleased with my Weber slate. Cleaning it after use is very easy and there has never been a concern for rust. It would be nice if it came with a paper towel holder or some other accessories but I also purchased the Weber caddy and tray which fits in perfectly to the right side.
I am still figuring out the hot zones of my unit but there are definitely some noticeable hot/colder spots when cooking. The size of the unit is perfect for two people but can also handle the occasional large group with ease. The overall look and finishes on the Weber slate compared to other griddles is more appealing in my opinion. I would also recommend getting the fitted cover.

After my last barbecue had rusted out (not a Weber) I debated for quite a while on what I should get next. I looked at a lot of different options and after talking to friends and watching numerous videos I decided on an outdoor griddle. I looked at a lot of them and when I compared the Weber Slate to the competitors the slate won on pretty well all categories. Much more solid construction. Exceptionally smooth griddle surface. The
griddle steel seems much thicker. The steel handle on the lid and the overall construction of it is excellent. I found it very easy to assemble and had it turned on and running less than an hour after opening the box. Also, the packing of the parts in the box was incredible. I have never seen an item like this so well and perfectly packed.
So far I have done a number of breakfasts, smash burgers, chicken hibachi and chicken and veggie wraps and the most amazing rib steak. Everything has turned
out excellent. My daughter and her family come every Sunday for brunch and the first time I did pancakes she said “Dad your pancakes were always the best but these are next level”. 😋
Living in Canada I’m interested to see how it does in the winter but for now I’m very happy with this purchase and look forward to many years of fun, family meals!! Thanks Weber!

Easy(ish) to put together. Easy instructions for prepping the surface and seasoning. It gets incredibly hot. Clocked it at over 600° after 15 min preheat. Adjust accordingly. Now that it’s summer, I use it for most of my cooking. From flatbreads and pancakes to sticky chicken and ribs. Hot water and a long scraper to clean and a slight, very light coating of oil afterwards keeps it beautiful.
