My first flattop and its very well made and easy to use and maintain. I updated the wheels right away to rubber and larger diameter to make for easier moving on rough terrain. I wish the unit I have had left shelf to collapse for easier covering and storage space savings.
Had an 36” Blackstone, and there are so many frustrating things about them. I absolutely love this Weber Slate Griddle. It is built like a tank, cooks very evenly, solved a lot of the issues other griddles face, and just feels ultra premium in every respect.
My ONLY gripe, is that you can’t use the nice heavy lid while cooking, but there isn’t a griddle on the market that does.
Assembly was easy to follow, and I would definitely recommend having someone help you. I did it by myself, but there were 2-3 times I wished I had someone there to help lift things into place.
First cook was Chop Cheese, and I didn’t season it first, food stuck which is kinda what I expected but it was still a delicious meal! Seasoned it 4 times after I cleaned it, avocado oil, and now it’s just amazing.
1,000% recommend this griddle. I am done searching!!!

Awesome job on steaks for Christmas dinner! Wife verry happy with the results. Cleans up excellently. Heats evenly, my girls gave it to me for Christmas, what a great gift. Hint: They said seasoning wasn't needed but I did it anyway. Dad was a chef and I learned early.

Best Griddle on the Market!

After nearly 2 years of research, I decided to buy the Weber Slate 30-inch Griddle. I went for the 30-inch because it perfectly into the space I had available for a griddle. The absolute most important factor in my decision making was the quality of the cooking surface itself. I wanted something smooth and easy to maintenance. I know that rust is a major problem with most laptop griddles and the smoothness of the cooking service plays a major role in the quality of food produced. Also the thickness of the cooking service this important in heat distribution. The griddle on the Slate is extremely smooth, like fine old cast iron, and HEAVY. I weighed it, and it weighed in at 40 lb. It's thick, and heat retention and distribution is excellent. Simply based on the cooking surface, the Weber Slate would have been the only choice for me. Beyond that, the rest of the unit is top-notch. I love the built-in digital thermometer, and the easy access to the grease tray, from the front of the unit instead of having on the back. The cabinets are excellent for keeping tools and supplies safe and clean and the side shelves with optional accessories are very handy to have. The lid is sturdy and beautiful and the available cover is also excellent quality. This unit is comparably priced and even less expensive than other brands of similar accessories, and a bit more expensive than other options that are more stripped down, but in my opinion this is the absolute best value on the market. Super happy with this and I'm sure it will provide years and years of excellent service. Super easy to maintain and I'm not at all worried about the cooking service rusting over time. Love it! If you want to see it in action, and if you want to ask me questions about it, visit my YouTube channel. Just look up TonyTone BBQ. As of May 2025, I have nearly 30,000 subscribers and millions of views. I'm looking forward to making more videos using the Weber Slate!
I bought this model because I did not want the built in thermometer. Overall great griddle and I enjoy using it. However, I was surprised that the left shelf does not fold down and that there are no doors on cabinet. This was not clear to me from either the description or the photos.
Uneven heating. Far left burner runs 50-70 degrees cooler than the center and right. I see no adjustment for it. I have to run the left burner on 'medium' to get equivalent griddle temps as the other two burners on 'low.'
