LEGO made me an engineer, then I worked on Artemis

LEGO #1682 ("Space Shuttle Launch") is the first set I can distinctly remember building. My dad helped; I was probably five years old. Twenty-odd years later, I had the great professional honor of serving as a design engineer on the Space Shuttle solid rocket motors. This design effort also supported the five-segment motors that now power the Space Launch System that launches Artemis.
My own backstory aside, this was an incredible pleasure. 10/10, would recommend to any space geek with the requisite patience and exacting eye (it's obviously not a little-kid build experience).
As soon as I can figure out how to transport it safely, it's going to work to live on top of my filing cabinet.

Bought this to build with my son and we knocked it out in a day! Amazing build: easy bag by bag configuration so we could each work on separate components, nice info tips along the way and some history of part changes. The manual is also put together well with a very nice intro about the designer and history of the rocket system itself. I highly recommend this as a partnered build (would be fun solo as well)

Great space set

This set is an incredible build that looks amazing when it's finished. There is plenty of detail too. Looking at this makes me want a gantry for the Saturn V set.
One big complaint is the use of stickers especially when some of the same pieces have printing on them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really enjoyed building this set. It is very detailed and looks great in my collection. The set includes a couple of new parts that make it more realistic. You will not be disappointed.

I enjoyed this build. It was challenging at some points and repetitive at others. The finished product looks great. The only problem was a couple of missing pieces.

Artemis is amazing build!

Comes in 27 bags so the overall build is not overwhelming! Launch Pad and rocket ship are solid. Worth the money for history.
