Ah, the new Lego McLaren P1! It's an absolute marvel of modern engineering, a symphony in plastic bricks. As you assemble each piece, you can't help but feel like you're crafting a masterpiece worthy of any supercar aficionado. The sleek lines, the attention to detail—it's like a miniature automotive utopia in your hands.

Great addition to the Technic supercar lineup!

I've built 3 of the other Technic supercars, and I can confidently say this is one of the best. The gearbox especially moves more towards a more realistic number of gears, utilizing some newer shifter fork and rotational selection elements. Besides that, it's a lot of what you would expect from these cars: many moving gears for the drivetrain, working suspension, doors, and steering, and an overall attractive final package.
Personally, I still prefer the Sian's mechanisms and inclusion of AWD, but the intense green could very easily be seen as offputting. I think the McLaren is still a better purchase than the SP3 Daytona, which is a much more finnicky build.
The last “big” kit I got from LEGO was the Lamborghini. The Lamborghini was a fantastic kit to build. I thought that for the price, this kit would be just as good. I was wrong.
IT’S BETTER!
It was not as difficult to build as the Lambo. The McLaren P1 is so well designed that, although it is technically complex, it was a very stress free build. That is not to say it is an easy build. For example, somewhere along the build process, I missed something and the reverse doesn’t work. Obviously it was my fault. But the great thing about this is I get to disassemble part for the car back to the transmission part, correct whatever I missed and enjoy the build again. And who wouldn’t enjoy that?
I would really love to see a 1/8 scale Aston Martin DB12 or Vantage. Or maybe even the Vanquish! That would be awesome!
In conclusion, if you are reading reviews to decide if you want to buy this kit, stop reading and buy this kit while you can.
Keep it up LEGO. I don’t know how you do it but each big kit I buy is better than the one before. Two very big thumbs up!

Lotsa missing pieces…….

I absolutely love the build, but, there were several missing pieces. I’m still on the first box. Now I have to wait for the pieces to come before I can go on. I’m not happy about it but it is what it is.
I enjoyed the build of this kit. It was a very good comparison to building an actual car with all the mechanics that went into the car to make the features functional from engine to pistons to shocks. Doors, hood, storage and spoiler all open or adjust. This was the largest build I have done with technic bricks. Happy to see the final product.

Verified Purchase:No
The complexity and design was better than the previous super cars. The best part was NO STICKERS! I’m hoping the next supercar will be a purple to complete the color spectrum!
