Pneumatics?
on September 26, 2024

I follow sailboat racing, so was excited for this. The build was fun, but I am extremely confused about the use of pneumatics here, as the valve switches are completely inaccessible once finished. I've gone through the instructions several times and have no random leftover parts. Are they included simply as a "hidden" feature? If so, that's a needless price inflation, and false advertising. There's even a picture on the box showing the foil arms actuating. Lego, if you're listening, please provide an explanation because currently I am extraordinarily disappointed in the final result of this build.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for taking time to leave a review and share your experience. The pneumatic tubes in the set are functional and will pump up the hydrofoil cant arms. To activate, use the crank completed on step 38 and turn the red switch installed on step 27. You'll see the cant arms raise and drop. If you have any issues or need troubleshooting assistance, please reach out at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can help out!

Missing pieces..... 🥺

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so bummed out that my Lego yacht is missing pieces. 😭 I was really excited about building this Lego masterpiece but I quickly realized that it's missing some pieces and I cannot go forward without them. So much excitement wasted!

I’m not a super experienced LEGO builder, but I’ve built a number of complicated kits and I’m also a very advanced plastic model builder. I can say, unequivocally, that this was the most difficult LEGO set I’ve ever built! It fought me all along the process. Sometimes, none of directions made much sense as it wasn’t really obvious. It took awhile in the process before it started to actually look like a boat. I admit, many of the problems were my own, but I became quite frustrated and a bit confused with this one. The geared parts for the masts didn’t work well, or not all. Don’t know if that was intentional or my mistakes. This was one I was really excited about, but sadly based on my experience, I’d never do that again! I need a break from LEGOs for a bit. By the way, there is ZERO playability with this set. It is very fussy about even being moved a little! This is definitely not for kids!

Enjoyed this build immensely. It is a fun build and you feel like a grinder/cyclor when working the hydrofoils!
Lego did a great job capturing the lines and functionality of the AC75 yachts.
Highly recommend and you should have fun building and displaying this one. Good value!

Tough beauty
on September 3, 2024

Where to begin. This was one of the toughest TECHNIC builds I have done so far. Parts I have not seen before, many intricate details when building. Stickers - my nemesis. But when she is ready to sail, it is a beauty. The colors are dramatic. The sails tall and sturdy on the mast.
I can imagine it was as almost as hard to build and it is to sail! Almost. Yes, the hydraulics are complicated and for me I could not figure out how they worked from the instruction book. I called LEGO and the advice I received was to "finish the build". Not helpful in this case. They should work at page 92.
Went online and found a video that was not exactly clear, but helped me figure out how they worked. And they worked as indicated.
Still found some of the views in the manual a little confusing from the angle. Happy to say the printing of the book colors was perfect this time.
So, all in all a great set, a challenge, and worth the money.

Awesome kit.

This is a really nice kit. It was a fun and a little bit of a challenge in areas. A great looking model to display. My only complaint is the piston that supplies the air for the parts to move. I think it needs to be bigger. Thanks for a great kit.
