The middle model is functional.

The problem with the main advertised model is that there is depth inside the building, but requires removing a lot of connected roof parts that form a connection over another connection, as it comprised 3 parts of a building.
Never tried the smallest model, but the middle model, the tower, is the most functional and playable. Granted, it is smaller horizontally and has no connecting spaces to each room, but it's good enough. Especially that kitchen and dining room build.
How they connect to each other is nice, in this form. Fits well in a city setting, as well. But that's more bias than it is talking about the functions itself.
But I loved littering minifigures around to hang out in the main model, that's for sure. It was mostly the reason I bought it, sure enough.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
