I have been using the zero water pitchers for years now. The original picture made great water . But there was a lot of problems in my opinion . One was you had to hold a push button switch in to get water. I have arthritis in my fingers. It hurts every time I had to hold the push button in . Causing me pain every time I used it. But with the new, and improved model it has a flip on , flip off switch, which doesn't hurt at all . The piece that you screw the filter to on the original fit so tight that it was hard to get it off to wash it , or to exchange the filter. The new one is easy to remove for cleaning, or filter exchange. I also like the new design of the pitcher better. In my opinion ZERO WATER PITCHER WENT FROM ZERO STARS ON THE PICTURE DESIGN TO AT LEAST A 6 STAR ON A 1 TO 5 STAR SCALE !!! WATER HAS ALWAYS BEEN A 6 STAR RATING IN MY OPINION !!!

Water still tastes like chemicals

I live in Clearwater, Florida and the water is hard and tastes awful. I purchased the zero water filter as it claimed to remove all the impurities and make water taste better. I’m not sure if the impurities are being removed as the water still tastes horrible.

ZeroWater's Ion-exchange resin filters are a reliable and efficient way to get delicious, filtered water. They work by exchanging ions in the water with regenerated ions from the resin beds, which can remove a variety of contaminants from water, including lead, nitrates, sulfates, calcium, magnesium, and other heavy metals. The exchanged ions bind with the contaminants, making them much easier to filter out. Our combination of cation and anion exchange resins can reduce 99.6% of dissolved contaminants in your water. However, when the filter is exhausted no more contaminants can be filtered out and an unpleasant smell and taste may be present. This is a common cause of overuse and can also occur by pouring hot water into the filter or freezing it. Be aware, though, that while the smell is unpleasant, it does not indicate any harm or danger. It is only time to replace your filter. Change your filter once the TDS meter reads 006.

I got this size unit because I make a lot of Iced Tea and to fill the Coffee Maker. The water tastes great and the filter seems to work well. However, the Unit dose not fill the main reservoir up much more than 2 inches at a time. I realize it takes time for the water to trickle down through the filter, but I keep the fill tank full and it won't go down through the filter until part of the about 2 inches filtered water is used. My Tea Maker is 2 Quarts (8 Cups) and I can barely fill it using the unit even after a couple of days. Disappointed. The whole point of buying this unit was to stop buying 2.5 Gallon jugs of spring water at the store.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.

We had a smaller zero water dispenser but this one just blows it out of the water! I love the sliding top that slides open to fill the water. It is so easy and convenient and so much faster than my last one. I like the bigger size as it works better for my family and we don't have to refill it as often. Water still tastes amazing and so much different than our tap water. Looks good on the shelf as well!

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. Some of our customers have used other, traditional filtration systems to treat the water prior to filtering through a Zero Water filter, in many cases that will cut the TDS level down enough to make the use of Zero Water more economical. There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short.
In order to avoid a change in the taste of the water it is important to test the water regularly and change the filter when the digital meter reads 006.

Didn’t work for me

I’m disappointed in this. I’ve been a loyal customer for almost 3 years. Had the original pitcher and decided to replace it with this. It’s cumbersome and the reader does not fit at all. It’s harder to fill and doesn’t buy me enough time to compensate for the difficulty it takes to refill. A miss for me. Sorry.
