Defective Refrigerator/Freezer

Purchased 4/1/26 and has been freezing and thawing in Ref, ice built up on freezer walls fan grinding on ice buildup and then system goes into thaw, water runs onto my floor. The cycle repeats every 5 days. Have had GE assigned repair company visit 3 times and a fourth visit is scheduled next week. Asking for a replacement appliance as we have not been able to use this since purchased …104 days now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The fridge is good, i love how organized this frodge allows things too be and its not tood deep where youmlose things. the freezer space is limited due to very short drawers, i could get much more in my upright unit or my larger GE fridge. It cooled immediately upon installation.

It's a great fridge! Cooling speed was quick it is fingerprint resistant it's not very noisy the seal integrity is great the temperature consistency is great ! It's pretty!

If I could give 0 stars I would! Has had rattle in door since purchase. They’ve replaced parts and door and it still doesn’t it it’s been demeaned non repairable. And they will not replace it saying it’s cosmetic, so I have to hear it rattle all the time. Also have had 2 motors replaced. It’s been going on for a year now! This thing is a lemon! So I paid for a noisy appliance this is unacceptable!

Disappointing Temp Control on Bottom Freezer

Have owned for just 5 days. But temperature control on bottom freezer is of concern. Temp will increase by 15-20 degrees after freezer drawer is open for less than one minute - if the compressor happens to be off at the time. Then will take several hours to get back to set point (0 degrees). It will stay at least 30 minutes between 20-30 degrees before starting to cool back down. While technically still below freezing not what I expected from a new GE unit. If compressor is running when I open the freezer drawer, the temp rise still occurs, but is reasonable and recovers quickly. I cannot time when I need to open the freezer and when the compressor is running.

The frequency of door openings plays a large role in maintaining proper internal temperatures. The more the doors are opened and closed, the more the temperatures will fluctuate. Temperature measurements in the fresh food and freezer compartments should never be made of the air as the temperature of the air fluctuates during the defrost cycle and during door openings. The best way to measure the temperature is to place a bulb type or candy thermometer that is capable of reading below zero temperatures directly into a container of food or liquid that has been in the refrigerator or freezer compartment for at least twenty-four (24) hours. If the condition or quality of your foods has not been affected, there is no cause for concern. If continue to have an issue, make an appointment with one of our Bodewell technicians, by calling 1-833-4BODEWELL or visit: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service to have your refrigerator evaluated and repaired as needed.

water dispenser is nice

The refrigerator is very nice, but the bottom freezer drawers and door are super flimsy. The freezer does not close smoothly unless it is totally aligned manually with the inside drawers. I wish we had known this or we would have chosen another model. We were also not prepared for the refrigerator to roll away from the wall toward us every time we open the refrigerator or freezer doors. The inside light does not always go on consistently when the left refrigerator door is opened singly. What is your recommendation for the above concerns?

Due to the size of the doors and the strength of the door gaskets, it is possible that the refrigerator could roll or move when one of the doors is opened. Since the wheels or rollers do not lock in place, it may help to place a piece of wood, a small wood wedge or plastic furniture coaster with felt on the bottom under the wheels or rollers to prevent rolling. We recommend re-leveling the refrigerator after doing this, if necessary. If you continue to have an issue with the interior light not coming on, we encourage you to call our service team - Bodewell at 1-833-4BODEWELL to have your refrigerator evaluated and repaired as needed.

QUIET, ATTRACTIVE, PERFECT FIT

MODEL GWE22JYMFS - I ordered not having seen the model in person. My concerns were how reflective, how quiet, and how much wider do the doors open at the hinge at 90 degree angle. PERFECTLY PLEASED that the stainless does not reflect image clearly but appropriately shadowed. The fridge runs quietly. It has a very low hum different than my previous GE model, but not distracting, and not heard unless house totally quiet. The door projects 3/4 of an inch wider than the refrigerator when opened at 90 degrees Well lit with 3 lights in fridge -and one in freezer. Dark gray side panels. Happy the handles perfectly match my GE dishwasher handle purchased 6 years ago. Capacity suitable for my needs.
