Gas is the way to go

Dries well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have used this gas dryer for approx. 3 weeks. Drys clothes well and appears well made. Only two complaints so far. 1). The dryer has a smell after operating, kind of a soap smell. I always dry with low heat, and my old
whirlpool gas dryer never had this issue. I'm hoping it goes away with time. I did run it at max heat empty for a while to condition the flame chamber. No improvement. 2). Door latch is too firm. Takes a good pull/push to open and close door. A dryer door must stay closed when operating, but this is overkill. I have not been able to get thru to a Maytag representative yet to discuss both issues, particularly the smell issue.
