Easy to use out of the box and lights up the area

This light was ready to use right out of the box. Easy setup and plugged right into the Power Station. Three settings of lighting (high, medium, low) worked well! Each of the light panels can be moved in the direction you want the lighting. The cord is long with the switch being nearest to the power station. Easily portable, easy to setup, easy to take down. Loved it so much, we ordered another.

New Skylight

Just received my new skylight. Item is surprisingly simple and easy to use. The quick release knobs are a bit tight? Needed pliers to un-loosen the knobs. The light output was a definite WOW!!! Portability is bulky however, manageable. I used a non goal zero generator and it operated just fine. I would definitely recommend this item.

I purchased the Skylight for a number of reasons. I wanted something powerful enough to light up my camp without having multiple lanterns, something dependable and durable, something to light up the camp but still be far enough away that the flying insects are drawn away from camp, something directional so the light is where I need it, and something that was battery operated and rechargeable. This light ticks all my needs and more. The included picture shows the light on the lowest setting allowing my wife and I to play games while allowing our boys to enjoy the fire without tons of light. The 3 settings while on battery really give you options to use the light as you need, and there is a 4th level you can use while connected to a external power source that my wife calls "The night sun", lol. It come with a very secure hard plastic tube case that fits nicely with my overlanding gear in the trailer. The hard plastic gives me peace of mind that it will not get damaged while traveling. I am extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it.

Versatile light, not so versatile charging options

Everything about this is great with one glaring exception. Goal zero does not provide a conventional wall charger to charge the skylight. To make matters worse they don’t even offer a solution online in their store other than to buy a battery pack and use one of the proprietary outlets or cigarette lighter. I understand the purpose of using this light system is for off grid purposes, but I still think it would be important to be able to charge the internal battery in a conventional way.

As far as impulse purchases go, this was a good one. Useful right out of the box - no assembly required! The included and craftily packaged leg spikes is an added bonus. I would have liked to see the engineering be a little more creative by adding an integrated charging solar panel to the top cap of the unit so that it could charge itself while sitting out at the campsite during the day - a seemingly simple add-on.
