[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently picked up the 24-inch G30D Odyssey Gaming Monitor. Here's my review on it:
Design and Build:
The design of the monitor is sleek and modern. The slim profile and thin bezels make it look sharp, and the build quality feels solid. The stand is pretty stable and lets me tilt the screen, but I do wish there was an option for height adjustment or swivel. Still, it doesn’t take away from the overall feel, and the back has a nice, minimalistic gaming vibe to it.
Display Quality:
The 24-inch screen size is perfect for my desk—large enough for an immersive gaming experience, but not too big that it feels overwhelming. The Full HD (1920x1080) resolution looks crisp and clear, and the IPS panel provides vibrant colors and excellent viewing angles. I’ve been using it for both gaming and everyday tasks, and it holds up really well. It gets bright enough for most environments, though I could see it struggling in a very well-lit room. What stands out the most is the 165Hz refresh rate (via DisplayPort), which makes my gaming experience incredibly smooth, especially in fast-paced games like shooters or racing games.
Performance:
Performance is where the G30D really impressed me. The 1ms response time helps reduce motion blur, which is great for high-speed action. The 144Hz refresh rate makes everything feel fluid.
