My Wife and I travel in separate cars frequently as we travel and we needed a reliable way to communicate when we hit dead zone spots incase there was an emergency. I'm usually pulling a 30ft travel trailer and she is pulling an 8ft utility trailer (we are full time RV'ers). We started with the MXT115 and the stock antenna but found that it didn't quite have the range we were looking for. Shortly after we bought those, the new MXT 275 came out and we upgraded, we also added on the 6db gain antenna and are SO happy we did so. We have only tested them out but having the option to have the sound come out of either the handset or the box is huge. The sound is clear and the antenna really boosts our range. Love that we can hide the box and just have the handset sitting there so the dogs don't get tangled as they jump in and out of the car. I'm currently getting all the wiring installed so it is out of the way but our initial tests prove to be very good with this new radio and antenna!

This is a good little radio. I wish It covered more channels on the low end. On the GMRS channels, the 15 Watts really kick in. I can talk for 20 miles.

This unit was installed in my Polaris Ranger. The basic installation was very easy. I opted to fabricate a bracket and ground plane for the antenna, so that took me a little longer than usual, but I wanted the optimal range for the radio. We tried it at a location had been really marginal for the handitalkies, but reception in both directions was loud and clear. I'm looking forward to our elk hunt in the late fall, when this unit will really be put to the test.

Midland have made the process of choosing a radio system so simple with the Micromobile. This MXT275 will eventually replace the Uniden CB I currently have in my Land Cruiser - I am hanging on to both until all my trail buddies have switched. The bundled mag-mount antenna and power cord are reasonably good quality. The radio interface itself is well-designed and intuitive. I will update the review once I've had a chance to actually use it in the field.

The radio was really easy to install. I hid the box under the passenger seat on a Jeep Wrangler. The mic/radio can be easily detached and hidden when not in use. It comes with a cigarette power adapter so I can move it between vehicles. Cant wait to test deep in the woods and see what kind of range I get.

I bought the MXT400 initially, which was a fantastic radio as well, but the one thing that was difficult for me was finding real estate to properly mount it. I ended up installing it under my driver seat which made reaching the mic and adjusting volume/channels, etc. difficult. The MXT275 works just as well for me as the MXT400 did for my use cases (offroad communications) but allowed me to mount it in a perfectly accessible location along the passenger side footwell. It's so compact and light! I love that the controls are integrated into the mic, which allows me to control it easily from the drivers seat. The 12v adapter makes for ridiculously easy setup as well and means the whole unit can be moved to another vehicle rather quickly. Overall, I have been extremely pleased with it.
