I just got this last week and installed it over the weekend(took just a few hours) I went ahead anf got the 32 inch antenna as well due to my mounting location. In general I wasnt sure how well the radio would do but I figured the only way to find out was to give it a shot and see for myself. The other day I was on Medano Pass by myself for a fun trip. While using the scan function I started to hear a group coming from the other direction. I could hear them fairly well and it got better as we got closer. As.my guess we were about 10 miles from each other there were plenty of trees in the way. Just from that alone I was impressed.
I also tried the NOAA Feature and really like it. I was most likely 35-40 miles out from a few towers and still picking up signal.
In general I feel its a great combination for those simply wanting a good radio for group communication in a OffRoad Trip. Yes you could get a more powerful unit but if you dont have the need then I suggest sticking with a lower powered unit like such.

Works good. Very little interference. Good reach for repeaters. Solid construction. Easy to install. The USB-C charger is a good bonus. My only complaint is that the speaker is not loud enough.
