I bought my MXR275 about 1 month ago, have went on 3 trail rides with between 12-15 other jeepers, this radio will small included antenna works great, no garbled misunderstandings! Very clear with weather channels. Just get it permanently installed today! Great little radio. Very happy girl.
I bought and installed the MXT275 in my jeep a couple of weeks ago. Its built well and sounds good and clear. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because even though all the controls are on the hand piece, you can't install the base unit too far away. The hand piece cable is not very long. I wanted to do the install where the base unit could not be seen. I was able to install the base unit in the center console and the hand piece just reaches the dash board. It would not have reached if one was to decide to mount it under the seat. I'm pleased as to how it was small enough to fit in the center console considering a jeep doesn't have too many places to hide electronics. Something to keep in mind..
I bought this to use with my GXT1000 handhelds. The radio is easy to install and easy to use. The mic is well built and the speaker works great. I also like the way you can switch between speakers on the mic and the head unit or use them both if you need to. The included antenna works fine if you mount it as high as you can on your vehicle but I will definitely be upgrading to a permanent roof mount antenna on my truck.
Just returned from hunting in the snow with temperatures as low to 13 deg. The radio had good range and the battery charge lasted longer that expected.
Bought this model over the other Midland GMRS radios, due to the controls all being in the microphone. This will make it much easier to use while on the road, and not have to take my eyes away, by looking down, where I have it mounted. Needed a GMRS unit for group and hwy travel, with some distance TX ability due to terrain over just CB use. I paired this with the optional 6dB antenna, for added distance, and will keep the included short one for a spare. Mostly desert/flat terrain, with some trees being encountered in the mountains/hills.
The MXT275 is a great radio, especially if you have limited space in your vehicle. I was able to program local GMRS repeaters into the radio without a problem. After programming repeaters, checked radio performance and received reports the radio was functioning well.
Please remember to get your GMRS license. There is no test for the license and it covers family members.
Great compact radio that installs anywhere! Stock antenna has ok range and is oddly small and unscrews a little to easy. Clear communication overall. The sticky pad that sticks to the mic holder (not the side that sticks to the car) has failed, will need to glue or find a double sided pad.
Bought these a few weeks ago and installed them into our tractors, combines, sprayers, and semis, they work great up to about 2 miles and then get a lot of static, bought the extended antennas and they helped but they still don’t reach the 5-7 mile range that they said they would
