I bought this radio for road communications and repeater access as I'm trying to go overlanding. i was able to hit local repeaters with this unit...... but that being said this is a NARROWBAND ONLY RADIO meaning you will sound low on the other end. but upside is all the controls are on the handheld so you can tuck the radio body anywhere BTW UPGRADE THE ANTENNA

We bought this 2 way radio for our SXS and are very happy with it. It has great range, it was easy to install. We had question and reach out to Midland, the were very responsive.

Best purchase for my Rig

I bought this a few months ago with my friends and it has been the best purchase I've made by far. Being able to communicate with your friends in other rigs is simply amazing. This hardmounted radio was super easy to install and its super clear. It also has impressive range and you never have to worry about the battery life. There is little to no squelch, which was a big issue I had with the beofeng UV5r

The size of this radio is quite small, I consider this like an advantage, because I can install it under my car seat. The thickness of the antenna wire let me to hide it inside the doors seals. The only component that I don't like to much is the antenna itself, I hope Midland could improve and redesign this like the ghost antenna but in a smaller version
