Great Radio So Far

I bought two of these units. One for my car and one for my wife's car. Newer cars have almost no space to mount additional radios so the remoteness and compactness of these units makes mounting easy. Both units have no trouble hitting the local repeater 35 miles away. Two things I would like to see changed. 1. The microphone button is too easy to press and sometimes results in unwanted transmissions. 2. The adhesive for the microphone mount is not strong enough to hold in hot weather. Otherwise these are great radios for the money.

This is my first GMRS radio. I needed it because some people run CBs and others are switching to GMRS. I am impressed with the convenience and price of the whole Midland package that was available. I especially like being able to use it to talk to FRS walkie talkies. I should have done this years ago.

Did a temporary install of the MXT 275 in my wifes car for a cross country road trip with 2 vehicles. Using only the equipment supplied (12 volt cigarette plug and mini magnet mount antenna), the radio worked as expected. It provided stress free, reliable communications over several miles between moving vehicles.
Only issue was that the volume controls don't appear to work with the controls "locked". Other than that, it was perfect. I imagine the optional 6db antenna would double the range we obtained with the 6" mini magnetic mount antenna.

Install was easy and performance is fantastic! Able to talk 2 miles in very obstructed urban environment and 10+ miles in the more open areas! Very impressed and happy with the radio!

I purchased the mobile mtx275 a month ago. Install was a breeze with supplied roof magnet mount in my 2015 ram 2500. Unfortunately there is not many gmrs repeaters in my urban area to test on. Have recieved many frs/gmrs HT that can not respond based on distance but have rx from frs from upwards of 3 miles away and gtx1000vp4 tx/rx from close to 2 miles from inside the home. Your environment will be a major factor in reception. Looking to trial the mtx26 to see the difference in urban and rural distance as I go to both types.
