We bought this for the Jeep for group rides and it appears it will work great. Only used it with the little antenna that comes in the package and it gives me about a mile of good reception when talking to a handheld FRS/GMRS radio. Highly recommend for Jeeps that don't have much room for a radio.

We've used a couple of Midland GXT1000's for several years and are well satisfied with their performance so it was a no-brainer to go with their MXT275 after deciding to add a more permanent radio to our new truck. From unpacking to first xmit/receive test took just a few minutes. EVERYTHING needed to get started was included - true plug n play. I may replace the antenna at some point but the range with the one in the package is surprisingly good. Controls and menu setup are very similar to the handhelds so not much of a learning curve for me there. We're retired and, prior to COVID, did a good bit of cross country travel while camping on public lands. The NOAA weather channels have been very useful for that.
One possible improvement might be to add a USB plug as a power option. My truck has both USB and traditional 'cigarette lighter' plugs but I think the trend is towards USB only.
I'm still waiting for delivery of a console mounted molle panel (from another vendor) for the final install so no pics at this time.

Purchased my first GMRS radio (MXT275) from Midland. Installation was a breeze. I just wish Midland’s representatives would have been more responsive to my emails. I would have purchased a few additional items.
For anyone considering a Midland radio, take your time and look for articles showing how people have installed their GMRS radios. These articles are hidden and in my opinion should be linked to the respective radios for people to see them. These articles provide a lot of useful information on installation and links to useful tools/equipment.

This is a perfect setup for my Jeep. Main box is hidden away and a quick disconnect of the hand mic and it can be securely locked away with no one the wiser that I have a radio installed.... especially when it’s topless and doorless season!! Perfect!

A group of friends bought this radio for our side by sides. While I have not actually used mine it seems to be good quality and very compact. The others have used theirs and like it. Looking forward to this summer and getting much use out of the radio. I will be purchasing an additional antenna so I can use the radio in my truck and in the side by side.

I picked this model because of the speaker in the mic. I have trouble hearing transmissions. I can hold the speaker In the mic up to my ear it helps a lot. So far I am pleased with the range although I haven’t had a chance to test it long range yet. I am able to hit our local repeater
