Needed a semi-permanently mounted radio option for trail riding in the Jeep. Very easy to mount the radio remotely and have the microphone and control head within easy reach. The antenna that came with the radio will definitely need to be swapped out with a larger unit for better reception. Also the current radio does not have the ability to split privacy codes on repeater usage so this is a little bit of a limitation in our area.

Great radio that'll do everything you need it to. It's greatest feature is the ability to hide the brain box. The connection from the hand-held mic to the brain box is a standard RJ45 connector. You can buy any female-to-female RJ45 jack you want and connect it to the brain box with a standard ethernet patch cable. Many online retails sell all kinds of water/dust proof, marine, or flush mount backlit options. Toyota owners can even get one that fits right in to some factor dash switch blank plates. Or, as I did, just make a custom cat6 cable with one male end and one female end. Leave it hidden under the kick panel until you want to hook up the mic unit. The pull it out, hook it up, and tuck the connection back under the kick panel. Works perfectly, and when it is disconnected, you can't tell that there is a radio in it at all...except for the tiny antenna (I bought the 3db gain antenna from Midland as well. I recommend it too).
Highly recommend if a clean install is important to you.

I bought this radio to use off-road and it's far improvement over my old CB radio setup. I love that all the controls are on the handheld mic unit so that I can cleanly install the entire system. Overall, I've been pleased with the performance (even with the stock antenna).

I recently purchased the MXT 275 Micromobile for my Toyota Tacoma. The compact size makes it very easy to mount in multiple areas and still be low profile. This is a great edition to my truck and very helps during trail rides where my group uses Manland 2 way radios
