For the money, this is a great microwave.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We both like the capacity, because a kitchen has a smaller insert for microwaves. The controls are very well laid out, and it is really nice to have a design that fits with our kitchen. Since we’re new to the product performance seems to be a high standard. The power settings are easy to maintain and change. I would say I highly recommend this product.

Be aware of the child lock feature

Please, please, please turn off the child lock default setting . It is so utterly unnecessary and frustrating, I nearly returned the microwave due to this utterly annoying feature.

Just over 2 years old and dead

Just over 2 years old and started shorting out after 4 seconds. Scared the cr@p out of me. In the beginning, it would inexplicably beep every day at 9:14 a.m. SO WEIRD. Then lately it started beeping whenever with nothing in it. And now it's junk. WAY TOO MUCH MONEY for something to only last 2 years. We're past warranty. I'll never buy GE again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
