Wished this cam only recorded and sensed motion when Ring alarm is armed in away mode.

It sounds like you want your device to only detect motion when you are away. By using modes, you can customize when your devices detect motion. You can select Home Mode when you want the outside cameras or doorbells of your house activated but want to be able to move freely around the inside of your home. Its Just ok...

I watch my grandchildren four days a week. I have numerous RING products. What I like, its light weight small and easy to install on a wall with Double face tape or leave it on a table. I use the camera in a bedroom to monitor the children when napping. what I don't like is the microphone. Sound quality is poor. Infrared is good but gets blurry on objects in the crib and can't see the baby clear. Its Good quality for the price, I was expecting more from RING. Maybe a PTZ with a better microphone.

It sounds like you are experiencing unclear audio and video quality from your Ring Indoor Cam. If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a live view but your recordings are fine, this can be caused by a poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud or a connectivity problem between the Ring doorbell or security camera and your router.
If you are experiencing poor video or audio quality when viewing both the live view and recorded videos in the Ring app, the problem is usually due to a wifi issue like a signal or data loss. Great upgrade from Gen1

The color night vision and lower light features are better then Gen1 and the added privacy shutter is nice as well. As with all Ring products setup took minutes and was up and running.

Rating out of “Good, Better or Best” it’s “Better”

I have four separate ring cameras a total of 9 cameras I all. All in my opinion are bout the same great quality, picture, durability and look. The cameras catch most all movement but, miss a little however more often than I’d like they miss the first 2-5 seconds of movement and sometimes that’s all the time it takes for something to move in and out of frame. Other than that the cameras are great I’d recommend them and will continue to buy them! Also the price plans for them are great!

It sounds like your Ring Indoor Cam is not working as expected. Indoor Cam is a small, lightweight security camera with flexible mounting options specifically designed to be used indoors. Indoor Cam features 1080p HD video recording, two-way audio with noise cancellation, a wide viewing angle, and a built-in siren. It is also compatible with connected Echo devices.
The newest Indoor Cam (2nd Gen), pictured below, features an enhanced mounting design, a power cable/adapter, and a removable privacy cover. A tone will sound when the cover is secured and active. Captures motion inside and out

After trying a stick up battery camera that failed to capture motion or people through the window, I decided to try a plug in 2nd gen indoor cam. It works as expected and am glad I switched from battery stick up to indoor plug in.
