Delayed warning

This is not instantaneous. You get a warning five minutes AFTER movement has stop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Sews13.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

We understand how critical it is to get timely notifications from your Ring Indoor Cam. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when motion is detected is an essential feature of the Ring Indoor Cam. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.

It sounds like you are receiving notifications later than expected. There are a few settings on your phone to check that may be impacting your notifications. First, turn your mobile device completely off and back on again. Then, check the Control Center on your iOS device to turn Do Not Disturb on or off. You won't get notifications if your device is not connected to wifi. Check if your Ring device is online by checking Device Health in the Ring app. Learn more here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210266406-Troubleshooting-Ring-Notifications-for-Apple-iOS-Devices.

Takes a long time to focus. Sometimes you can't even tell who it is before they are gone.

Hello Sparkie,

Rather than leave you hanging while your system's high-quality video buffering catches up, Adaptive Video Play transmits a lower quality video image in the interim. When the higher quality video image is loaded, your image will seamlessly switch over to a higher resolution.

Speed is important for high quality video playback on your Ring app timeline. You might be in an area where a poor connection is keeping the high-quality video from catching up. It's important to note that even if an entire video displays in 720p, the higher quality video is continuing to download and will be available on playback. Here is a helpful support article that elaborates more on this feature: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032437812-Understanding-Poor-Quality-Video-and-Adaptive-Video-Play. Here are steps to improve it: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020044511.

We invite you to reach out to our Community if any additional information is needed regarding your video quality concern. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other. Great video - Blah camera casing/stand
on July 20, 2023

The video is great. Features work. However, the actual camera casing and stand need work. It is not as functional as the Google Nest indoor/wired cameras.

Indoor camera is mostly ok except for glare from the window. System, however, is not reliable

Hi Dr Joe.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

We understand how critical it is for your Ring Indoor Cam to notify you of meaningful motion events where the device is installed. The features and technology provided by the Ring Indoor Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like you are trying to use your Ring Indoor Cam to face outside a window. If your camera is facing a window, you may get distorted images at night. You can disable the infrared light within the app to try to eliminate the glare. The infrared light control is in your Ring app under Video Settings. Visit our support center for additional details: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033911431-Indoor-Cam-Troubleshooting.

So far the cameras I purchased are awesome, pretty much just like the stick up cams that I already have.
