I’ve had no issues in the past year plus that I’ve had this. It charges reliably and it goes off reliably. It’s a little harder to get to work 100% if you’re trying to look through a window (we did this temporarily as we needed to check on something) so if you’re intending to use one outside make sure you mount it outside and I would recommend the solar one for outdoors. This has a good picture in the day or night and the view can be moved, you can zoom in, etc. I like that it alerts me and I can also change the settings for sensitivity and recording so it can save on battery life and reduce recoding if you feel it’s too much or vise versa. I would get more of these if I needed them, the app and subscription have also been simple and flawless.

We use this camera for our baby and dog!! It is very convenient to have and view live to make aure everything is ok when baby is playing or when dog is home alone

We use this Ring camera inside the house. It’s next to the window where our dog hangs out and we have it angled so it captures the front of our house and the dog at the same time. It’s easy to use and works great.

not for child security

I purchased this so that we could keep an eye on our child, but the hard to understand 10 minute streaming limit made it unusable for that. Ring should remove that limit asap
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You are correct, the Live View will automatically turn off after 10 minutes. The Advanced Motion Detection software in Ring devices is designed to notify you of movement. Speed is important for high quality video playback on your Ring app timeline. If you have a Ring device that's supposed to transmit video at 1080p, but occasionally shows an entire video in 720p, that's the Adaptive Video Play system in action.
