The camera is good, and the lights are bright. But it feels like the camera should be a pan cam v3, and there should be more control over the light functions.
The camera is a game changer. We replaced our Wyze outdoor cam with this and not having to charge a camera every month plus the upgrade to a better camera is well worth it. Its a bonus I can control and change settings for the light directly from my phone. Our previous floodlight was not set up for this. It takes less than 30 minutes to install and setup.
I purchased this to replace a standard flood light that I had mounted with a Wyze camera mounted near it. I liked the idea of having higher resolution and the clean look of having the two integrated. The unit itself looks good and installation was easy however the unit I received must have been defective as I wasn’t able to get it to connect to my network. I should mention that I’ve owned at least a dozen Wyze cameras, and I currently have 5 of them in my system so I’m very familiar with setting them up. The issue I had with this unit is that it seemed to be stuck in setup mode which caused the unit to constantly say “Ready to Connect” via the extremely loud speaker without any easy way to stop it since by the time you get to this step the unit is hardwired to your electrical. I searched online for some troubleshooting suggestions and the only thing I found was that others complained about the reset button being stuck down but removing the cover and prying the button up a bit did nothing. I realize that defects happen but there needs to be a way to disable the speaker or perhaps a way to disable the camera entirely. The speaker itself, for the purpose of security is rather loud, so it was very disturbing to my neighbors who had to listen to it constantly while I performed troubleshooting and while I eventually gave up and had to uninstall it. I ended up returning the device and I don’t believe I will replace it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
