Self cleaner nightmare

Purchasing my first home and this is my first time having a flat top stove so I read and followed the cleaning instructions. I had over spill from using the oven wanting to host sunday dinner so I wanted to get all of that up be fore using self clean. With warm water a cloth dish soap I wipped the oven out then proceeded to use oven cleaner with a damp cloth to be sure I got all food out. I waiting till it was completely dry and used the self cleaning feature as a back up wanting to maintain it's newness. The oven got so hot it set off my smoke alarms and I had to open the back door because self cleaning mode would not shut off after trying to cancel several times. The bottom of the over is ruined. U can see where food spilled and over flowed and wiped it up. Care and cleaning instructions say dish soap and a soft cloth was the best solution and the u could use oven cleaner just dont get it on the trim gasket or handles but had I known a pot roast and baked Mac n cheese would have my oven looking like this I would have just went to my mom's house for Sunday dinner.

A Great Value with Great Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this to replace a range over 30 years old, and so the features were a big upgrade, but we were surprised by how easy it was to use them. That made the transition to the new range much easier than expected. The oven is HUGE compared to our old one, big enough for two sheet pans on the same shelf at the same time. The cooktop is easy to clean and the burners heat up quickly, and so does the oven.
