Not User Friendly.

NOT User Friendly. The speaker drops Bluetooth connection unexpectedly. Even if you are listening to the speaker and pause a song, or just go in and out of a store, you may need to reconnect it to the source.(phone) This thing is only useful if you don't pause or otherwise move away from it. Also, it shuts off way too early to (protect) the battery.

I've been playing this portable speaker for many weeks and now I'm ready to tell something about my experience.
First I have to say that, even though it remains portable, it's larger and heavier than I thought, but it's not a problem for me since I bought it to listen some music in my garden, so I don't have to carry it around on a regular basis.
The overall looking is very pleasant and the sensation is of a good built, durable and premium product. The rubber coating and the front grid with the Klipsch logo are solid; the adjustable belt is very comfortable, even if it partially covers the battery indicator.
The upper buttons are a little bit small in my opinion and they need a little prolonged pressing to operate.
Pairing with my smartphone was very easy and the signal is clear and stable even at long (for the bluethoot connection) distance. I didn't like the "flat" setting so I adjusted it to my liking in a few minutes with the Klipsch Connect app.
It came with less than half of the battery so I wanted to discharge it completely (which took about 8 hours) before charging it.
The entire recharge takes about 3 hours and with a use at various volumes, but mostly 50%, it lasts more than 20 hours which for me means more than a week.
When it comes to how it plays, guys this thig is literally a jawdropper! When I listen to it I keep wandering how can such crisp, clear, defined and POWERFUL sound come out of a small speaker. You can feel the bass in your chest. That's a beautiful peace of engineering!
Never forget that we are talking about a compact portable speaker but believe me, I've listened many of these devices, even those that are most blazoned, and this Detroit is second to none.
There's only one thing I can criticize and it's the volume control. It's set on a 10 level scale which makes it few granular, many times one is too low and the next is too high. If they made it on a 20 level scale would be perfect.

The speaker is quality you can expect from Klipsch. It produces a rich vibrant sound and I can forsee me using it for years. My concern is the strap. Those type of straps seem to stretch. Is it replaceable? Will it stretch?

Truly amazing for an Ip67 rated Speaker.

At first when i got it, it was obviously on flat due to factory settings and i also was running an in app equalizer and at hearing it first i did not think it was what i was looking for. I then downloaded the app. Tuned both Klipsch and in music app equalizers to my taste. I truly enjoy the clear sound from the tweeters and deep bass from the woofers. Great purchase and i will continue to purchase Klipsch audio 🫡

I’ve been a Klipsch fan since my high school days in the 70’s, totally dedicated to the famous Klipsch horn tweeters. When my wife and I bought a travel trailer last fall for retirement touring, I knew I needed a great sounding Bluetooth speaker for off grid and outdoor use. When I read about the Detroit, I knew it was the speaker for us. It arrived yesterday, and after an overnight charging, I set it up in our living room and outdoors. My trust in Klipsch is once again rewarded with an amazing sounding Bluetooth speaker. The highs are sharp and crisp. Voices sound natural and clear, and the bass is surprising for a portable Bluetooth unit. I’d recommend the Klipsch Detroit over any other brand. Klipsch has a real winner in the Detroit.

The Detroit is fantastic. I was waiting for reviews, so I hope to be helpful to anyone else that's still waiting. The bass on this will surprise you. It shows you just how much of the song you are normally missing when you are listening to the same song on other devices. The volume is also pretty shocking at how loud it gets. The App helps you fine-tune your listening, & the battery lasts forever. I find myself listening to the Detroit most of the time I am home, even as background music, & with its portability, I think I found my new best friend. IP67 rating is what really drove me to this over the XXL Groove, but I've never listened to that unit, so it may be just as amazing sound-wise, but I found that the Detroit was really everything I was looking for in a bluetooth speaker, & couldn't be happier with my decision. I recommend this product to anyone who is still thinking about it. I have other high-end JBL, Bose, etc. speakers, & this is definitely a quality product.
