Racks not as good as the older 4000 model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this dishwasher to replace a 15 year old model 4000 Whirlpool. We had to replace our old one because the door latch assembly broke and the replacement parts were not available. This new model is more quiet and perhaps more water efficient. HOWEvER... the racks in this new model are not well designed for large shallow bowls. The old model had pegs the right size to hole a shallow bowl upright, so you could load several to be washed at the same time. This new model has pegs that are too far apart, so the bowls lean over, almost flat and block each other. The could be put on the second rack face down, but only about three would fit..... and there would be no place for cups. The drying is not as efficient and the older unit, and if you forget to "turn off" the Door dry option, (that unlocks the door and opens it a bit at the end of a cycle), your dishes and the inside of the dishwasher will be wet. (even with Jet Dry added). Overall, the unit is quiet and efficient, but will not allow the same number of dishes, (mainly shallow bowls), to be loaded as the older unit.

Innovative Feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was installed several weeks ago and I’ve been impressed with how quiet it is and I was surprised by the automatic door opening at the end of the cycle to help the drying process and efficiency. It seemed gimmicky at first, but I like the way it works. That was an innovative feature. I’m also enjoying the third rack for cooking utensils.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We like the dishwasher so far, very quiet. My only nit pick is the dish racks are too narrow. I picked this model so it would fit my opening. We like the 3rd rack on top.

Big improvement for my kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaced a 21-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher that served us well. I'm very pleased with it after 2 weeks. It cleans dishes and pots far better, perhaps because of improvements to dishwashers in general over the past 20 years. We chose this ADA model because of space limitations in our particular kitchen layout, so I can speak to the ADA features.
Things I like so far: • Third top rack for cooking utensils! This has gained back all the space lost to the non-standard ADA size, and more. • Nicely angled second rack slots for mugs and cups - no more puddles of water in the bases of mugs. • Door-open dry. Combined with the extended dry setting, plastics come out completely dry except for those molded plastics that have big crevasses that catch pools of water. All without subjecting my things to a super-heated air dry. • Delay timer. This is a must-have for me. • It doesn't require an app to run. I'll never buy an appliance that requires an app if I can avoid it. • It seems quiet.
Things I don't like so much: • The utensil rack is inconvenient, in my opinion. I really miss the door-mounted utensil rack from our old Whirlpool, but none of the new ones have it. We turned out keeping our old rack and use it in the bottom shelf because it takes less space than the provided rack. Tip: When disposing of your old dishwasher, keep all the interior accessories. You can always throw them out later once you've figured out your new unit. • Some people may miss having a heated air dry, although I do not. My dishes are dry in the morning. It does have a sani-cycle that uses hot water to sanitize, if you need it. • No compartment for pre-wash detergent. I guess everyone uses pods these days, but I prefer powder so I can put a little detergent in the pre-wash. I just toss it in the tub. • I miss not having a display on the front to tell me how much time is left, or even if the delay start has been set. To see the status, you have to to open the door, look at the top-mounted control panel, press start/resume, then close the door.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am pleasantly surprised how quiet my new Whirlpool dishwasher is. If I am standing in my kitchen, I still have to concentrate to here it in operation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This whirlpool dishwasher is one of the best that I have ever owned. Never need to rinse the dishes nor silverware before use and after the dry cycle every dish, bowl, and utensil is spotless. It runs quietly and I love it!
