The PERFECT bedside lamp... The three levels of lighting are perfect and the ability to charge my iPhone or iPad is a tremendous PLUS!! I've enjoyed my old (original) OttLite till nbow, but this newer version is even better!!!

Purchased this item for my mother who has always had site issues and at 88 are getting worse. She loves this item as it allows her to see her keyboard at night which she wasn't previously able to do. She has since purchased another for her kitchen table and has told two friends with macular degeneration about the light to see if it will help them too. Wondered how many lumens this item is and whether Ottlite makes a high lumen rechargeable hand held spotlight.

This is actually the second one I purchased. I had one at my bedside and my wife wanted the same one. We like the 3 brightness settings and the flexible neck.

Ott-Lite Finish Disintegrated After 9 Years-Sticky

We bought this lamp 9 years ago and loved it until just recently, when its black soft finish disintegrated into a sticky mess. This occurred within a few months, it wasn't exposed to any extreme heat or fumes or anything. In fact, it sat on a small table beside our couch with my wife's knitting bag on it the entire time. I used a strong product for removing adhesives on it and it took away the stickiness along with a layer of the plastic. I plan on buying a can of black spray paint on it so it does't look like the current mess of grey to black tones. The lamp itself it great, but the finish doesn't last forever, at least for some of us.
