Plugged in the new cartridge, and got the same replace Magenta message even after turning off the printer. What good is that, so that printer with the new cartridge is in the trash. HP is very disappointing to say the least.

like the scanner and copier, everything works great. Printing function is good, my concern is why, when I print in all black in white, do the color ink cartridges all diminish in volume (and all are emptied at just about the same time)? Because I want to act responsibly, I return the "empty" ink cartridges, then they are no doubt refilled, rewrapped and resold. Thus I am participatory in HP's greedy scam.
