Just what I was looking for. Holds tight enough to secure iPhone, and charges. I removed the vent clip which just unscrews and used a 17mm to 20mm ball for mounting. Will need 180deg usb c to make it perfect.

The reason for the 4 stars (instead of 5) is the challenge of fitting onto the vent without breaking it. Be very careful not to press too hard. Improved instructions would be helpful to avoid damage to the car.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this one to replace the first magnetic base which did not have the charging feature. This one is ok, but the charging base is not as big as the one that does not have this feature and the magnet one this does not seam to be as strong. Over all it is ok for my use.

Currently the best MagSafe charger for the car

So far I think it's the best MagSafe car charger setup on the market. I've tried other setups where you are expected to purchase a separate Apple MagSafe charger and cigarette lighter charger. In these setups I've found the charging was took weak to keep the phone charged when I was using GPS and the standard Apple MagSafe charger magnets were not able to hold the phone snug enough when going over bumps in the road. The end result was sometimes the phone would fall off while going over a small bump in the road. This setup from Belkin includes everything you need (no separate Apple MagSafe charger needed), is able to keep the phone charged up when using GPS and the Belkin magnets and rubber padding is able to hold the phone in place when going over road bumps. The only downside is that it can only be mounted on a car vent. Depending upon your car setup this could be challenging to do. In my car I found a spot that works but it sort of blocks the volume control of the stereo -- fortunately, I have additional volume controls on my steering wheel as a work around. If there was a way to have another option to mount it to the dash board itself I'd give it 5 stars. Regardless of this shortcoming I still believe this is still the best MagSafe car charger currently out on the market.
