If you're in the market for a computer. I don't feel like you'll go wrong with HP as a brand. I bought this computer for video and photo editing. It has been able to do that so far. I'm disappointed that I can't change the function keys to just be function keys. I can't hit F4 any longer without first holding the function button. When most computers I can do that, why can I not change that on this one...
Overall good - it's fast, was simple to set up and get going, generally quiet fan (only seems to run when needed), and just does the job. A basic unit so don't expect this to be truly high-end if your needs are beyond web surfing and the MS suite. Nice to have 30 days of McAfee too. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the front panel buzzes - pretty cheap construction.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally replaced a six-year-old system with this Envy and am 100% satisfied. I did bring it up to 32GB RAM (for video editing), and with that, performance, reboot times, any metric I can think of are excellent. No bumps at all.
I was happy with the ability to transfer the setup information from my old desktop. I was up and going on the new desktop in less than 30 minutes. The turn on speed is also remarkable with the SSD.
