Definitely packed full of features, worth the purchase. I use it as a personal router connected to my phone via usb and ethernet to my dock for my laptop. Still can connect multiple devices with wifi as well at the same time. Havent tried the vpn setting yet but it is easy to use through the app. I just wish it had 5G connectivity but wifi 6e will do for now. Maybe a battery in the future would help. Powered via usb-c, might try a portable battery.

The Router appears to be a full Router with many features. It was a bit overwhelming for me at first. Many good reviews on youtube to get me going. I'm still trying to figure out the Wisp feature.

It is a great wifi router especially for traveling with the same free security standards as their home router setup. It was fairly easy to setup on the open wifi network to create a private secure hotspot.

This is advertised as a Travel Router. The setup process requires access to the admin account and the ASUS router software. But it is not possible to perform the setup if your main home network is also an ASUS router, because the home router IP address is the same as the IP address for the travel router, and there appears to be no way to fix this, other than finding some other non-ASUS network to temporarily use. This is unacceptable.

Dear Rxc6422,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand your disappointment with the router and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing difficulty settings it up successfully. To resolve this configuration issue, you need to setup this travel router offline, login to it and change the IP address manually, outside the range used by your home network IP address. Once this was successfully setup and save, reconnect to your main ASUS router. Also, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if it is running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-wifi-routers/rt-ax57-go/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RT-AX57-Go. I love that this router supports 4G/5G for mobile tethering. It’s compact yet packed with functionality and power to handle multiple devices with ease. This is my first time buying an ASUS product, and it’s clear you understand the needs of today’s working world. Please continue creating mobile tethering products like this—you’ve given us an option where there was none before. You’ve gained a customer for life.

So far, so good. The ASUS website provided canned documentation that did not provide accurate info on how to setup the WISP interface. Thanks to Perpelxity I did get the WISP config to work. Note: It looks like only one SSID can be active regadless of which ISP is the host. Tried it at home. Visted a local office with its own open WiFi. Connected there. I setup VPN Fusion and that seemed wo work as well....Next step..the cruise! Wb s
