Notre-Dame de Paris

This was a really good build. I especially liked the way the build instructions mimicked the way the cathedral was actually built in stages over the years.

A Slow Build

I'm only up to Bag 16, but am having a good time. Taking it slow, a bag or two at a time in between my reading and work. At 83, I need to enjoy the process !

One of the most visually stunning Lego sets ever

I was looking forward to this set since the day it was announced. I built it over a weekend (probably should have extended build) and after completing the 34 bags I was in a state of awe. There are some very repetitive builds and you will probably hate 1x1 bricks but the result is well worth it. I cannot recommend this set enough and look forward to what’s to come!!!

Rich detail, small size

Candles, ingots, dragon teeth, and magic wands. I love repurposing. I opened up one side to display the interior. I am using it to demonstrate how our 1/40 scale LEGO model of the Washington National Cathedral could have an open cutaway on one side. It shows off the interior details. Now to modify Notre Dame to resemble our Washington cathedral. Think of ND as a starting kit for your local gothic edifice!

Outstanding

When I saw that Notre Dame was going to become one of the next LEGO projects, I knew I had to have it. My wife got it for me for Father’s Day. I tried to stretch out the build, but I never can because once I get into it. I simply can’t stop Right now it’s sitting in the living room with many other large Lego projects. I may have to build an extension to the house for all of it anyway it was truly a wonderful experience and I’m looking forward to more.

Wonderful set!

I'm only mid-way through building this, but it's a wonderful build, and will clearly make a great display piece (I've already cleared a place for it in my living room). For the scale, it still has lots of interesting details, and a range of building techniques. And, the designers thought about how a builder would react to the inevitable repetitive bits, and have spread them out with different techniques and details. AND - I love that the build is done in the same order as Notre Dame was erected historically; that's a great educational point of interest. Altogether, very well done, Lego Group!

A Masterpiece in Miniature
on June 8, 2024

The LEGO Notre-Dame de Paris set is a triumph of design and engineering, offering a building experience as grand as the cathedral itself. With 4,383 pieces, this set stands out as a detailed and faithful recreation of the Gothic masterpiece.
Design and Aesthetics: The set’s design is intricate, featuring the cathedral’s famous flying buttresses, pillars, columns, and gargoyles, all rendered with an impressive level of detail. The scale of the model is perfect for display, large enough to appreciate the complexity, yet small enough to fit on a shelf.
Building Experience: The construction process is a journey through history, with the build broken into distinct time periods that reflect the cathedral’s centuries-long construction. This approach not only adds educational value but also keeps the building experience fresh and engaging.
Authenticity: LEGO’s commitment to authenticity is evident. The model captures the architectural essence of Notre-Dame, from its iconic facade to the intricate rose windows. It’s a set that will appeal to both LEGO enthusiasts and lovers of architecture.
Final Thoughts: The LEGO Notre-Dame de Paris set is a must-have for anyone passionate about architecture, history, or LEGO. It’s a challenging build that rewards patience and precision, resulting in a display-worthy model that truly does justice to the original structure’s beauty and grandeur.
This set is a testament to LEGO’s ability to transform historic edifices into tangible works of art that inspire and educate. It’s a set that goes beyond mere play and becomes a piece of history you can hold in your hands.

One of my favorite sets yet!

The Notre Dame Cathedral is an amazing set! The amount of detail in it is incredible, and the price is very resonable considering that it has 4400 pieces. I have been collecting lego sets all my life, and I would say that this set is one of my favorites. You build it in the way that Notre Dame would have been built, and that makes it super interesting. The build is repetitive, but nowhere near the repetitiveness of the Eiffel Tower or Colloseum. This set is very unique because you build the inside as well as the outside, and usally the inside is uglly to make the outside look good. I would highly recomend this set to anyone who has an interest in architecture or someone who wants a fairly large set for a great price. I would definitly buy more lego sets like this.
