I bought this BT device, the Harman Kardon BTA 10 few weeks ago. I installed it right away and connected to my Rotel pre-amplifier. This device connected right away with my LG cell phone, where I have FLAC music files. The music sounds excellent through the speakers. So easy to connect and superior sound thru the speakers, that's all you need. I will buy a couple more.
I think it took me longer to get it out of the packaging than it took to attach to my stereo receiver, pair with my iPhone and start listening. 5 minutes tops.
My amplifier has no USB port so I need this kind of wired adapter. It has great Bluetooth connectivity and delivers good sound. But the more I use it the more I dislike having connect and disconnect the power line. If I don't disconnect it interferes with the connectivity of of other Bluetooth devices. It's sloppy, adds to the cable pollution of my system area, and the frequent disconnection and connection will contribute to the degeneration of the power line and the port. It is very inconvenient to have to unplug at the socket and very easy to lose the cable when disconnected at the device. My device is in a fairly dark room (I like it that way), so connection can be a hassle. For the price of this item there should be a power switch. If it had a switch this would be a 5 star review.
I've personally purchased twenty or more of the BTA-10's over time.. at least ten are active around the house and in my (older) cars. Family have the rest.. and love them too.
BTA-10 is simple, small and does just what it's supposed to do.. bring older tech devices into the Bluetooth world.
My only gripe, and it's in NO way a game changer... to date we cant change the SSID broadcast name.. it's always BTA-10.. so when you have more than one in the same vicinity it might be a bit confusing which to connect to. Most modern BT devices allow re-naming the BTA-10 their connecting to.. i.e. Kitchen, Den, Car1, etc.. but the SSID cant change .. yet :)
When using this device with my HK AVR 247 I am not able to adjust my volume to a desirable level. I will give Harman audio a chance to help trouble shoot this issue, but just plugged into the audio jacks I am not impressed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review. The AVR is an audio receiver and wants to see a full line level audio signal in order to function at 100%. The device connected to the BTA-10 should be at 100% volume, sending the proper signal, and the volume should be adjusted from the receiver.
