Metal knobs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were looking for metal knobs and a cooktop that would fit in our granite cutout 29”W x 19”D. We didn’t want to mess with modifying our granite for obvious reasons. This was the only one we could find and our very happy with it. Thank you Whirlpool and congratulations on being the only appliance manufacturer in the USA!

Gas cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall the cooktop is nice. Easy to clean. Large 12” pans on the front 2 burners is not recommended because the heat from the pans reaches the burner knobs. I have to push the pans back and cook off center so the burner flames do not over heat the knobs. The knobs need to be moved away from the grate angle so the pans are not so close to the knobs when cooking.

Full Review:
I did a painful amount of research before buying this cooktop. At first, I just wanted to upgrade our basic model Whirlpool cooktop that came with our house to something nicer. We also have all Whirlpool appliances, so I wanted to try and stay with that brand so they all matched. I spent literally months looking at this one and kept talking myself out of it, thinking that the design and layout just wouldn't be functional, with the angled grates, location of the control knobs, and the style of the knobs themselves. (For reference, our old cooktop had the knobs on the right side and they were the 'slotted' type.)
I initially talked myself out of this one and ordered a Frigidaire Pro series cooktop, but after two damaged deliveries, I gave up on that and decided we could just live with the one we had... until it stopped working a couple months later.
In the meantime, I had not stopped researching cooktops, and I finally saw this one in person at a big orange box store. Once I saw it and was able to touch it, etc. I realized just how nice it is! All my concerns went away and I knew if and when the time came to replace our existing cooktop, this would be the one.
So when ours finally died (it was 11+ years old) I ordered this one directly from Whirlpool and it was delivered within a few days, in perfect condition and very well packed and protected. Installation was fairly easy, with the only problem I had being the included mounting brackets. We have a Whirlpool electric wall oven directly below the cooktop and the included brackets were too long and did not allow enough clearance for the oven. I ended up modifying the brackets by bending the tab flat that's suppose to go at the top of the cabinet, drilling two holes through the brackets, and then mounting them upside down against the inside of the cabinet. This worked perfectly and allowed the appropriate clearance (see pictures).
The cooktop is stunning! It is solid and looks high-end. It is a joy to cook on and the layout and cooking surface area is amazing! I've had no issues adjusting to it. I love having the five burners and the different heat output levels. We also bought the griddle and it too is great. I thought I would hate the knobs, but I love them! I have zero regrets and couldn't be happier. It's very easy to clean as well.

Perfect addition to my remodel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this cooktop! It has a very professional look to it. The hinged cast iron grates are so convenient for clean-up. The spacing of the individual burners fits my needs, and I have been able to utilize each of them and therefore be more creative with recipes since I am able to cook, simmer etc different foods at the same time. The heat regulation is great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like all the features, it burns hot, and distributes heat evenly, looks really nice. Only draw back is that the burners are a bit close together -- using two on the same side the two pans sometimes would touch if I didn't move one off-center. Probably can't be helped due to the overall size of the cooktop.
