Good Cleaning, but not so good App or WiFi integration

Vacuum function great on hard floors and good on low to medium carpet. Mopping function surprisingly good. I don't need to manually vacuum or mop in 99% of situations now. The WiFi pairing does not work, and is not user friendly. I manually set the Q8 to use the 2.4 Ghz WiFi SSID, but the Q8 would not pair using the instructions or any other method. I don't mind so much, because the price is right, and the Q8 Max's mapping function and obstacle avoidance function work well by manually pushing the clean button on the robot.

I’m leaving this review after three weeks of daily scheduled cleaning. We have a short haired cat, a long haired heavy shedding large breed dog and two humans in our home and our old rumba used to need maintenance after every single clean because of hair getting tangled in its brushes, after three weeks of daily use I haven’t needed to service the Roborock even once. Easy set up, no maintenance needed, handles pet fur with ease, and the object avoidance has been amazing. 100% would recommend this to anyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my first robot vac. I have a 1000sq ft apartment with laminate floors throughout, and a large low pile rug in the livingroom. I bought a Bobsweep Dustin first, but didn’t open it once it arrived because I dug into the REAL “verified purchase” reviews and it just fails all the time. So, my brother has a Q Revo series of this brand and he sent me a link. I did it need that expensive of a model so I focused on this Q8 because of the suction rating, the dual brush and the cool looking app with the 3D mapping. I did not want the “+” model because I don’t have pets and I don’t think i’ll need to empty the dust bin every time it cleans. I set up this Q8 for the first time and it was SO easy. It updated the firmware first, then went and mapped the house, which took all of 10min. I have some cables and cords on the floor in some areas, and this thing went EVERYWHERE, OVER cords, tightly around every table leg, and did a 40min cleaning job PERFECTLY. This thing works, period.

It has been a few year since I last had a robotic vacuum, and they have come a LONG way! I previously struggled to prevent the vacuum from getting stuck in problem areas (chairs/rugs/etc.) but the mapping on the Roborock Q8 Max is phenomenal! I love that I can add/remove no-go areas easily and even select which rooms it will clean! This vacuum is SO much quieter, and I can comfortably operate it when I am in the same area.

've had the S6 from Roborock for several years and I love it. It's simple, it provides reliable operation, and it's easy to maintain myself. Replacement parts are available online at affordable prices, which makes upkeep really manageable. The software tells me when it's time to replace a part and so forth, so I never have to guess. I've been carrying the S6 between floors, so I was happy to finally take the plunge and get a second unit so my new Q8 Max can have the sole job of keeping our first floor clean.
So far, the Q8 Max is providing similar trouble-free cleaning help. It’s quiet, smart about navigation, and hasn’t gotten stuck or tangled once. I picked this one in particular because it docks discreetly under a side table in our dining room, which keeps it out of the way when it's not running.
The self-emptying feature on some other models would be cool, but honestly, I don’t mind emptying the dustbin from time to time. It only takes a few seconds.
I recommend Roborock without hesitation. If you're thinking about buying, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great value and does exactly what you’d hope a robot vacuum would do. Give it a try!
