Very nice laptop. Waited for a sale, called support for information on windows 11 installation and received an additional 5% off while ordering with the customer service folks. Boot time is exceptional. The features work as they should. After multiple weeks, did not encounter ANY issues. 17" display is crisp, I have already referred this model to a friend.
The cursor and screen freezes while scrolling or browsing. It is slow. I can’t install my MS Office Pro Plus 2016 due to an error caused by not being able to install some part of it with error 1713. The case seems cheaply made. The lettering on the keyboard appears to be fading on heavily used keys. The power cord connection is on the wrong side. The power button is in a ridiculous place. I am a long time HP customer and have owned numerous HP products. I am an 80 year old retired computer and network Tier III engineer who worked for AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Avaya. I am very disappointed with this HP laptop. Not being able to install my licensed Office Pro Plus 2016 is one of my top complaints.
I absolutely love my computer and it was so easy to order and set up. After looking at the options from retailers and the prices, I decided to go directly to the manufacturer, and I could not be happier.
Every couple days the computer refuses to connect to the internet. I had a service person install a new DNS server but that did not solve the problem. Other computers in the house are using the internet when this one can't so it's not the server. I have to reset the server each time this happens. Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
