Navigating the function for screen lighting, clarity, and colors are difficult. Set up was not plug and play. I thought it was. I had to search the web for help fine tuning or working good. Many pre-sets for connecting to the web, changing the default for apps such as gmail were not easy to locate. Getting started with this new laptop was much more difficult and time consuming than it was my for my Slim HP with Intel COREi5. The quality of the video is better, it is faster, and easier to maneuver through settings. Not perfect but is much easier than my new laptop. Im sure someone with more computer skills than me could improve my experience. I like the look and size of the laptop. It is great. The price was very good. Power cord could be another foot longer. Way too many ads. Hard to delete them without going through a lot of delete features. I know that's not necessarily an HP problem but all these problems could be and should be placed into an easy to read and follow instruction guide.
It’s a good laptop. My only concern is how it’s a bit delayed in function. It takes longer to load than a new computer should. Other than that, it’s good
As expected, this is a very nice laptop. Excellent screen and video camera. Quick boot-up, both cold and warm. But the forced requirement to have a Microsoft account in order to run Windows is ridiculous, and possibly illegal. There are known work-arounds for this, but HP should have an option to run without an MS account.
Negatives: No internal sd card reader Power button is hard to find and awkward + easy to bump No split mouse buttons so it's just one pad and frustratingly hard to right click No airplane or wifi button More difficult to print photos from right click because there's an added step to access the correct menu from a new menu Only one ctrl button because they replaced the right, best accessed one, with ai I never wanted nor asked for Volume and speakers aren't loud enough
Positive: Larger screen is lovely especially for Bible study nights for online church
The specs and info for the laptops now are terrible because I wasn't aware of MANY of these issues from the limited photos and information given on the site BEFORE ordering.
Solid computer. Runs as expected. Wanted a middle of the road laptop for some gaming and some productivity things. Runs the games I play pretty well at normal settings.
This is a 4star review because the only caveat with this computer is the battery life. It really isn't so bad when you're browsing the web, but when you happen to be playing a game (of any kind) as expected it drains the battery- way faster than you would expect. I'm talking about you got an hour or so until you better get it plugged in and charging. Still happy with the laptop, would like a little more life out of this battery though.
