Why to I have to confirm that I want to cook?

For years every oven I have owned has been very straightforward to operate. This one isn't as straightforward. When I want to bake something in the oven, I am used to setting a temperature and the oven starts. This one I have to press "Bake", then set the temperature. Life was good. But this one has an additional step..I have to press "Start" after setting the temp. If I don't, the oven turns off. The timer operates the same way - on older ovens, if I want to bake for one hour, I set 1 hour and the timer begins. But this one you have to press "start". If you don't, the timer will not start. AFter 50 years of using an oven, they all seemed to know that that when I pressed bake I intended to use the oven. And when I set a time, I intended to have it alert me after that amount of time had passed.. So WHY do I have to press 'Start" to do either of these? My nose has served as my timer as I consistently forget to press Start. Is there some way I can change a setting to tell it to just do what I asked without requiring me to confirm it? Also..the timer alert has such a pleasant and soft sound that you cannot hear it unless you are in the kitchen. My stove also has a chirping noise when it's heated that others have mentioned. . Otherwise it cooks fine, but I find the extra steps useless and wish there was some way to change it,

has never worked right...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the clock doesn't keep accurate time...the oven sometimes drops temperature...the burners sometimes stay on high settings when turned to low...

Poor buzzer sound, knobs should have a off/on line

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has been a month since I started using my new stove. I am not happy, the turn on/off knobs you can’t tell what heat level you are on, it is in black, no marking other than a black line, should be white!! When the timer goes off the ringer isn’t very loud either, only rings three times at a time, should have a louder alarm or buzzer. Baking temp./stove top heat temperature seems to be off. Cooking and baking takes longer.

No bells/whistles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Because our family is no longer home and we are older we do not need as they say all the bells and whistles. However the cooktop instruments could in the manual explain in more ways of how they work. The knobs could be a bit more directive in that maybe marks put in a different color so you would know approximately where they are in the heat cycle A little better understanding as to where the knobs meet with the cooktop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
