Easy installation; great oven; security needs work

We replaced a somewhat smaller GE combo oven/microwave (where the microwave was also a convection oven) with this unit. Things to know when doing it yourself: 1. You will be modifying cabinets; the cabinets are made out of exceptionally dense hardwood, so, be sure to have extra carbide-tipped fine tooth saw blades. 2. You DEFINITELY want to remove the doors to protect them and lessen the weight of the unit. 3. It is very easy to lose the locks for the doors inside of the doors (in the gap where the hinges recess into the doors), so be extraordinarily careful when you remove and reinstall the doors. As to the unit itself: Very happy with it. The integration with Alexa is a nice touch.
Why 4 stars and not 5? I would strongly suggest that multiple GE accounts should be allowed to be associated with the same oven; as things stand, my wife must log in as me to control the oven through the GE app. This is bad security practice.

Nice, functional oven - but needs louder sounds!

We've lived with this oven for about a month. It works perfectly and is attractive. I especially like its wifi connectivity, it notifies me when the oven has reached the desired heat and when the timer ends. My only complaint is that the oven needs a much louder beeper. The chip-type of noise generator now being used by GE is much too low, even when set to maximum. At least the wifi notifications generally make up for that problem. I would recommend this oven to a friend, but frankly disclose the sound issues. Someone who does not use a cellphone (yes, there are still some people like that!) should think twice before purchasing this oven.

First, GE claimed it would replace similar (Profile) oven. however new oven is deeper and shorter so it cost another $200 to modify "opening".
Second, the temperature in the oven is not uniform. I did several batches of cookies and the lower rack took much longer than the upper to bake completely. I finally ended up switching cookies midway..a bit annoying! My Christmas cookie baking "elves" are not going to be happy.
Third, I agree with another reviewer that the "beep" is not loud enough. Then again, the old Profile was too loud.
I am also not a cell-phone user, but the controls are pretty easy to manipulate. I would have liked separate oven light control for upper/lower, but not a big problem.
Overall I am pleased- let's see how long the electronics lasts!!!
