I purchased this cpu at the end of 2024 because of the decent reviews of the onboard graphics. I must say I have put it through its paces in a short time and the 8700g is faster than expected with average framerate while gaming is 97fps at 1080p and 80fps at 1440p. I paired it up with a Asus Z670-e and ddr5 8000mhz for extra headroom. For the lower temperature(32c) its sweet spot seems to be 6400mhz. So I get gaming performance along with the ability to create and edit video. I tried the included cooler and it does work but for increasing memory speed or overclocking I recommend a aftermarket cooler. I am using a Noctua C-14s and man does it ever keep this chip cool with a 95 degree ceiling this cooler kept it under 82 degrees with a 100% stress test during core optimization. Overall for specific needs such as a home theatre pc not having a graphics card creating heat and the ability to add a pci-e 5.0 card in the future as the first 5.0 series cards are just starting to be released. Enjoy!
