This small, lightweight canister sits relatively unobtrusively on the patio table. It is easy to light, and has done so consistently since I got it about a month ago. It takes 10 or 15 minutes for the repellent to start to fend off mosquitoes. It lasts about 10 to 12 hours. I wish I would have bought the larger repellent but for now this works well inside our mosquito-netted gazebo.

Bought this a few weeks ago because we needed a mosquito repellent for our backyard patio. It actually seemed to make the mosquitos worse and my wife and I got bit several times after the first use. We gave it another shot a few nights later and got bit multiple times again. Yes, I read the instructions and made sure that we are using it correctly, even tried a brand new strip. It does not work. I am very disappointed in this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this last summer. My wife hated starting outside in the evening as every mosquito would find her. Now my wife will stay outside with nary a bite. Thank you Thermacell!

I bought this a month ago and it does not repel mosquitoes. I waited to buy and finally decided I would try it. Wasted my money on unit and extra pads.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It DOES work for mosquitoes

Mosquitoes absolutely love my daughter. And she welts up big time from a mere touch of a mosquito. We use it at our patio table and the mosquitoes just don't come near. Other bugs still find us. But not mosquitos. They just don't come near us. Period. I only wish it had an auto-off setting with a little 'ding' when it needed to be re-set. It's easy to put it under the table and forget it's on.
