Such an incredible flop!

It works so well that the mosquitos and flies have swarmed our small, outdoor patio. They’re so enamored with the “repellant” that they land on the units and happily hang out there until dive bombing us. Unfortunately, we purchased two before we knew better and we are as immersed in disappointment as we are in bites.

Before reaching out, could we ask you to try a few things?
• Please be sure to properly insert the fuel cartridge and replace it approximate every 12 hours. Also, you should replace the insect repellent mats approximately every 4 hours (it will turn white on the top side).
• To ensure the unit is working properly, please be sure that there is an orange light glowing in the view hole (… on the top of the repeller or on the brim of the lantern)
• This product is fueled by butane which means it starts very much like a gas grill does. Turn the valve on, wait 5 seconds, then click “start”. It might take a few times like it takes a few times to get a grill going!

Didn’t work

I was so hoping this would work as well as it claimed and well it just wasn’t so.
We have had it on our back porch literally a foot in front of me for over two hours now and we are still killing mosquitos and my husband has still been bitten several times. We will be sending it back.

Before returning the repeller, can you be sure that the cap was removed before and during operation, and that the device was still lit after setting it down (small light through the view hole).

Life Saver! Works Wonderfully.

We have used both this patio version and the hand held units. They all have work so well. We have purchased multiple as gifts, always well received. Taken outs to many events, and friends are always interested and amazed at how immediately the bugs get gone! Perfect for around the camp fire, fishing, and while enjoying dinner outdoors. Highly recommend you try this piece of tech out!

We have a trailer in Muskoka Ontario bought a Thermacell off a friends review. Everyone in the park has at least one. Within minutes of turning it on the bugs are gone, black flies and mosquitos stand no chance!!

Love this patio shield

I have a lantern that I use on my boat and love it. When I saw the patio shield I had to have it. I use it on my patio and by my hot tub and I don’t have to run in the house at dusk anymore
I would recommend this to a friend!

Doesn’t work as advertised

I recently bought one of these in hopes that it would help combat the mosquitoes that seem to live my apartment patio. I decided to try it without the candles and sprays to get a good test and feel for the device. I made sure the kid was off, the gas was on tight, that I seen the orange glow and the mat was fresh and blue. I waited the suggested 15 minutes on a calm day (no wind) before walking outside. It took me about 20 minutes of being a buffet for those little blood sucking vampires before I realized that I wasted $30-$40 on this unit and the refill pads and fuel. lol
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Won't stay lit

I bought this about 5 weeks ago and was optimistic about it based on other reviews. Unfortunately the one I have only burns for a few seconds then quits. I thought it could be a breeze blowing it out so I tried it indoors and had the same result. I really wish it worked.
