Excellent Power, Improved Product Line

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've not really had much interest in Skil battery operated tools. Their worm drive circular saws are some of the best on offer, but in the past their battery operated tools have always appealed to those who only occasional use their tools. They've been either underpowered, or the batteries have been poor. If this drill is any indication, they've gotten serious about the upper end of the market.
First off, the battery lasts more than long enough for a day on the job, or an afternoon working on the car. It's not the best I've used, but it's up there. I noticed no notable drop off in power delivery as I've used this impact wrench. It turns a bolt the same in hour 3 as it does in the first 30 mins, and if you need just a little more time and the battery has run out, it charges up the first 25% of the battery quick.
Where the tool could use some work is overall power. At only 200 ft/lbs of torque, you're limited on the usage of this tool. This isn't gonna break rusted bolts, or over torqued bolts. This is still very much a tool for the home improvement weekend warrior, or the person that likes to do their own vehicle maintenance, but for those folks, it will do those jobs well.
One last note, the ring light is top notch. Gone are the days of annoying shadows, the built in light illuminates the entire area very well. Clever design.

I was surprised at the weight and size of this tool. I like that because it can’t be made flimsy. I like the multiple speeds and other options. My first use of this tool compared easily with my hydraulic hammers but I can use this without hauling around my generator and air compressor. I primarily bought this for mobile use on my camping trailer and tow vehicle. Very happy with its power. My only wish is that my power core 10 air compressor would charge on this charger too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love cordless tools. The battery does have a life indicator on it to let you know how much charge you have left. This tool also has a lot of power. It easily removed the wheel lugs on my car and it was convenient as well as I did not need to use my air compressor to do this. I would caution using it to torque wheels as this could overtighten the lugs during re-assembly. Ergonomically this tool fits well in the palm of my hand and the small LED light that activates when you are using the driver adds a nice touch when you are in darker work areas with the impact. This kit comes with everything you need out of the box and includes a charger, impact, and battery. The tool has two different modes that are clearly labeled on the base of the impact near where the battery connects. One is nut busting mode which I use often to remove fasteners and the other mode is a speed selection mode. Both of these modes have been handy when I have been using this tool on the farm and of course is nice when working on equipment that is in the field and air tool usage is not feasible to get stuff back up and running quickly. The materials of this tool feel very well built and it seems like this tool is able to take a lot of abuse and still function fine. I think that I will get lots of use out of the tool for many years to come.

I gave this 4-Stars because I have only used it a couple of time so far. The tool it self has all the power I need and I especially like the ease of speed control, I mainly bought it to help with rotating tires on my vehicle and removing lawn mower blades from my mowers which it does both with ease. I have several Skil power tools and have always been very satisfied with their products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm enjoying my SKIL PWR CORE 20 Volt Brushless 1/2-in Drive cordless impact gun. It's packed with great features like the three speed setting, reverse control mode, and it has the speed power jump tech that charges the battery from 0% to 25% in just 5 minutes. I even love the ring light around the head. What a great idea! I've been using it to get the blade off my lawnmower and to drive some heavy lag screws into the wall when mounting a TV. It did great on both tasks. So far so good!
