I like all the features no this item, but I was expecting a lot more torque for driving in no-drilling screws. It's even limited for driving in pre-drilled screws. This item is not suitable for a wood shop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi BigDog! We're sorry you're disappointed. We're disappointed, too, because what you've described comes nowhere near the level of quality in which our tools are designed to perform. Please give us a call and we'll make this right: 1-877-SKIL-999 (1-877-754-5999). We look forward to speaking with you!
I have had one before, all i can say is its a little work horse.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A rebranded hammer head..…… But done so right! I have a collection of electric drivers, from De-walt, Bosch, to others. I restore vintage audio gear as a side hobby. I have to say, Skill kicked this design up 10 fold. They were rid of the wire cutters, added the locking chuck, and the shell oozes quality. This driver for light duty work is unbeatable, I have been using it for roughly 2 weeks. I still have a few hammer heads a few years old now, I'm buying a couple of the Sill drivers to keep them on hand.
The guts, they use metal cogs, this driver for small screws in electronics is beyond perfect, the control of using the speed ring and than stopping and finishing the screw is so perfect I cant stress enough how well this design was approved on.
This is the 1st skill tool I have ever owned, I am impressed. Well done on a great driver.
NOTE This driver is low torque and low speed, this should not be used for woodworking or driving screws, this is a "hobby driver" and one good one, RC cars, stereo gear, gaming, computers. Just wow! Its like someone took the time to design a tool with just enough torque to work on speaker cabinets and PCBs. Good job guy!
