This screwdriver is perfect. You can use it as a normal screwdriver or use the motor to get the job done quicker. The added voltage sensor make this a very useful tool. Battery life is surprising good.
Convenient little tool for everyday needs.. have used it many times so far and I've only had it for about a week. Having a usb port to charge is exactly what I was looking for, the lights are great, voltage sensor is a potentially nice feature but haven't had to use it much yet, and seems the battery lasts a very long time.
The only complaints I have are the motor seems to be a tad weak, taking off/putting on wall plates for example you can hear it struggling and sometimes it won't loosen/tighten all the way, so sometimes you have to manually start/finish. A stronger magnet in the chuck end would be awesome if it could hold a screw, the magnet is just enough for the bit itself but I haven't had any luck with it holding a screw as well I kind of wish the USB port was on the side and with some kind of cap to cover so no dirt or any splashed water could get in. Also a bit holder built in to the driver could be very helpful, so I could always have a flat head and phillips at all times. I was able to easily fix the last 2 concerns with a snug fitting rubber table leg cap that I found from a local home improvement store; just place the extra bit(s) in the rubber cap and push on to the back of the driver.
I'm very happy with this driver and will be looking for 1 in the future hopefully with the same form factor but with those concerns fixed. Even if it had to be a bit longer I'd be happy as long as it's not made wider and doesn't fit in my toolbags driver holder.
This is not the screwdriver / drill I'd use if I were building a large deck. I've got two rechargeable DeWalts for that kind of job. But for almost every other repair job around the house I grab my 4V Skil Screwdriver. I love the design - compact, twist action, easy bit insertion and locking. The twist action operation allows you to hold the unit tight against the screw while screwing or unscrewing all with one hand if you need. I had a similar screwdriver that broke after only three years and the manufacturer is now out of business. My hope is that Skil built a better unit and this will last forever. Only time will tell.
