I bought the 163 after my original 160 died. It does not begin to compare to the original. Very disappointed. 1) string is more complex to advance, harder to adjust height and head angle. 2) Battery life is poor. I used to finish all of my trimming with the 2 batteries with the 160. With the 163 I go through the 2 batteries and not finished.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second string trimmer in the last 15yrs. I gave my grandson (10 yr old) the old one, he is using it in his lawn mowing business , he now has 6 customers.
This is the second Workx trimmer Ive bought. Its easy to use and light weight. I had my daughter try my old one and we both ordered one the next day. Now my Son is going to buy one. I highly recommend anything from Workx.
This trimmer is brand new for me so I don't have long term experience. That said, the price is a great deal and the trimmer works well so far. The only thing I don't like is how the trimmer must be reoriented in order to use it as an edger and take advantage of the wheel. A rotating shaft would be nice. Instead, there is a hinge down by the trimmer head that depends on force for adjustment. Instructions suggest that you step on the trimmer head and then fold the handle. Easier said than done because there is no leverage and the hinge friction cannot be adjusted. And I feel like I could damage the head or the guard by stepping on it.
I have been a worxx weedwacker owner almost since the beginning and have just bought my 4th unit and I can say they have gotten cheaper in the materials they use. This is really apparent in my old battery and the new ones. I was able to do a third of my work, on the old unit and battery, and didn't make it 100 ft on the new unit and battery! And it is very hard to adjust the tilt! I hope the blower that was part of the package does better!
Missing instructions for moving the head to position .

Thank you for sharing your experience and review! To adjust the cutting angle on the WORX WG163, first locate the adjustment collar on the shaft near the trimmer head. Rotate the collar to the unlock position, then tilt the lower shaft and trimmer head to the desired angle. Once the preferred angle is reached, rotate the collar back to the lock position to secure it. This allows the trimmer head to be positioned for easier access under shrubs, around obstacles, or in other hard-to-reach areas. If you would like to switch from trimming to edging, press and hold the conversion button on the handle and rotate the shaft 90 degrees until it clicks into the edging position. In edging mode, the cutting line will be vertical to the ground, allowing you to create clean edges along sidewalks, driveways, and flower beds. The shaft angle can then be adjusted further for comfort and better control while edging. For additional comfort, the auxiliary handle can also be repositioned. Press the handle adjustment button, rotate the handle to the desired position, and release the button to lock it in place. After making any adjustments, ensure all locking mechanisms are fully engaged before operating the trimmer. To provide you with trouble shooting assistance.
