I love it. I was without a cooktop for the last few years because the one I had was too old for parts and there were none that would fit the cutout. I had to get a new countertop so it was truly a blessing.
The hot alert light stays on all the time, the tech now said parts are on back order 6 weeks. this is my second GE cooktop in 5 years, the previous one had 2 burners fail.

We're sorry to hear about the cooktop light staying on. We're glad to see that you got in touch with our Bodewell team for assistance. We're confident that we will be able to help get this resolved.
These are decent - My second, the first didn't last 7 years but was all digital, so I went with the one with knobs. I'm limited to my choices because of the granite countertop cut out and I don't have an option for gas. Let's hope this one last longer than 7 years
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far, the cook top is an improvement from the old GE cook top that was in the house when we purchased it 8 years ago. It was a PERFECT fit! However, I've experienced two issues I have with the new one, these are: 1. In the new built-in the top right knob does not control the top right burner - whereas in the old stove top - the top right knob controlled the top right burner. Several times I have turned the wrong burner on and almost destroyed two pans on two separate occasions b/c they were empty and on a hot burner. 2. The old cook-top was white and the new one is black. I made stove top popcorn twice and now the new black cook-top is scratched somehow. I guess it's from the sea salt added at the end where you shake it around a bit. I used high quality (all-clad brand) large cooking pot. Other than these two issues - it was a perfect fit. I wonder if I could somehow get these surface scratches out(?)
The cooktop is poorly made. The glass top is separated from the metal base at the left bottom corner. It doesn’t heat properly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We advise scheduling service with one of our Bodewell technicians, as it is not normal for the glass and metal components of this cooktop to be separated. We also advise getting this heating issue properly diagnosed and resolved. You can schedule an appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
