Only good feature is the lid doesn't lock in spin

Junk! This is what I think. These machines are so loud, while in wash cycle, while changing gears, spin cycle, rinse cycle and shut down.
I realize cars are much more expensive by comparison, but a car can be made and you can't hear it operating and the car is not in your house. I was told most washers are in basement, so they are not as noticeable. Not true! I wanted it gone, immediately and offered to upgrade but was told the upgrade is the same machine (junk) with more electronic So so disappointed in your product. You can do better. Our machine sounds like an old truck that won't start.

Noisy machine.

The loudest washing machine I ever heard. Super annoying sound penetrates the walls and I can't escape. This thing is right up there with waterboarding. It only fills with 7 inches of water no matter what setting is selected. I could live with filling it with a hose from my laundry tub but the noise is excruciating. I am done with GE.

Noisy, Poorly Designed Pile of Junk

I'm not going to say avoid GE appliances all together, but I will say, do NOT buy this one. At this price point, it's just an embarrassing option. From excessive noise to unclear controls to even incomplete instructions, you can do far better than this unit. This pile of junk just strikes me as a machine GE threw together before a deadline.

It can be normal to notice some sounds when the washer is agitating and cleaning. However, if it is louder than expected, there are some things you can check. We suggest checking that your washer is completely level to the ground, as this prevents excessive vibrations. To level the washer, adjust the leveling legs by rotating the individual leg in the proper direction for up or down. If you have not already done so, we recommend disconnecting power to your washer for 2-3 minutes to reset the electronics. Also, check the outlet the washer is plugged into to make sure it is still working properly. If the issue persists, we recommend contacting our GE Appliances service team - Bodewell at 1-833-426-3393 to have your washer evaluated and repaired as needed.

Waste of money and lost a loyal customer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Waste of money. Bought brand new. Didn't wash right from day one. Everything loads right and follow directions. Them various loads bunch up, big and small. Have to restack, drain and spin again. Called out ge appliance tech. Said nothing was wrong. Said put it on delicate and solve the problem bc they put low water from manufacturing. Basically we put all their recommendations into place. Nothing improved. No other options. Never buying ge again.

Terrible, noise level is very loud.

Would absolutely not recommend. Not sure what is a better option. It is obnoxiously loud during wash cycle, as others have reported. Even with laundry room door shut can hear the intermittent grinding sound as agitator cycles on and off throughout the house. Similar in sound and level as videos for this model online. Have upstairs laundry so could never run at night due to noise. I have a 25 year old Kenmore this was to replace, now thinking about trying to repair it instead. Was quiet, reliable, very easy to use. cleaned close in one wash cycle. Could open lid at anytime, close and wash would continue. With this machine when open lid, have to hit start again and would start wash cycle from the beginning. The responses from GE with similar issues were to level, which was done, unplug to reset, also done and did all he other suggestions. During spin cycle, lid locks, which I understand why, but takes several minutes for it to stop and unlock so can rebalance load. Then have to hit start again because opened lid and guess what, starts from beginning wash cycle again. I read the entire manual, followed all directions. FYI on Normal(color), deep fill option is not available per manual. Deep fill option, agitator is nice, but the noise and complications in trying to manipulate the setting to get proper wash is not worth it. Buy something else. Tried to add video, but would not allow.

GE Definitely Missed the mark on this one!

I just purchased this washer on 9/5/2025 and so far, I’m not impressed. The tub is large (which I like), but the water fill levels are off in measurement so I always run the washer at the max fill level AND hit the deep-level wash, otherwise the tub wouldn’t have enough water for my loads. Secondly, when I add fabric softener to the designated holder, at the end of the wash, fabric softener is still running out of the cup and on to the clean clothes. I’ve even tried using my downey ball..the fabric softener is never released… Ugh! Lastly, this machine is so noisy. How could this not be heard and resolved in development and testing? My older machine was far better. I’m really trying to like this new machine, but it’s functionally is making it very difficult. I do wish I could get a refund and go with a different machine.

We'd like to assist you with your washer. This is a high efficiency washing machine. This system requires less water while providing effective cleaning action. You may notice that the water level is lower than on your previous washer. This is normal.

The fabric softener needs to be added prior to loading the clothes. The fabric softener may not dispense properly if the (Deep Rinse) or (Extra Rinse) option is not selected.
