I found these help alot with any smell that I get when I open the draw. I change them monthly. My box is in my apartment and have no issues with smell at all

Better than odor packs

I've found that using these in the Litter-Robot 4 produces less smell than using the odor-packs, surprisingly. They completely eliminate any lingering smell when the machine isn't actively rotating and exposing the waste drawer.

Expensive and don’t do much. Get the scent absorbing packs instead.

By far the best litterbox.

I've had two earlier models of Litter-Robot as well as other automatic litterboxes. The LR4 is a significant upgrade. It's so quiet; it's barely audible unless even when right next to it. The materials are more durable, and the sensors more sensitive. Odor control seems improved as well. It's fabulous! Star (the kitty love of my life) used it right away and gave "paws up!' Absolutely worth the price.
