Poor Edger

This was a warranty replacement for the WG118 trimmer/edger I had. The WG118 put out excessive line due to a worn plastic part. The replacement model sent, WG119, is not a direct replacement for the edger I had. The shaft does not rotate and the wheel is not included. The WG119 is not a good edger. I used my WG118 as an edger about 95% of the time.
The real problem was that I had to write the CEO to get warranty support. The unit was 2 years old, with a 3 year warranty. But, they denied replacement saying that it was "out of warranty". This was after I offered to fix it myself with a replacement part. But, they said the replacement part wasn't available. Low and behold, the replacement trimmer, WG119 has the exact same line feed part as the WG118. So, I fixed my old edger with the new part and I'm back in business!
Finally, the thin line on the new spool tends to get hot and melt, forcing me to dig the line out of the spool with a flat blade screw driver.
Overall, I was much happier with my old unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pro: Very effective when it works. Con: typically only works about 15 seconds before you have to remove the cartridge and reset the string. It appears to be due to how the string is wound (overlaps, and stuck together, etc.), but I've tried more multiple reels with the same result. Very frustrating.

total junk

I bought this and it is junk. The first time I used it the edging guard was launched across the yard by the string. It is a good thing it is easy to access the string because it breaks too often. There is no reason for it to have a string advance because you will have to re-thread almost every time.

Auto feed didn't work and can't see having to stop

It only took less then an hour to figure out that having to stop work everytime you need to feed new string instead of bumping while your cutting is the worst idea ever!

Poor string trimmer

I bought this as a bast up to my gas weed eater. First off it did not self feed the string. Had to stop and manually pull the string out. The string and it is just that string. This is way to small to try to edge with. I will keep it as a backup but would hate to have to make it my main trimmer.

Thank you for sharing your experience and review! We recommend unwinding and rewinding the spool to make sure the line is not overlapping or stuck together. Since the trim line is biodegradable, it can melt and stick together causing the line to not feed properly. If it's still not working, you can try another spool; it may be that particular spool has a problem feeding the line or breaking easily. You can also try resetting the auto feed system by pressing the small square reset button on the bottom of the trimmer. It is located below the eyelet where your line feeds out on the trimmer head. If you press that 3 times, the auto feed system will reset and the line will come out properly. Be sure not to pull the line out by hand. This will tighten the line around the spool defeating the purpose of the auto feed feature.

Thank you for choosing Worx!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am simply trying to write a positive letter to you about your tools that I have bought, and your website makes it impossible: I have bought a number of your battery operated tools. I am completely happy with all of them. They perform well and I have never had a problem with any of them. I have bought battery powered or gas powered tools in the past from other companies, but most often they only function for about a year or so. Not yours. Again. I am most happy with your tools. The only thing that I think that you could improve on is the ability for people to contact you more easily in your webpage.
