Great choice for those who are past Windows. Just like your Android phone or Chromebook, only better. One thing; this HP Chromebox (Chrome OS) is incompatible with the HP Smart app. How & why is beyond me & their tech support.
The Chromebox works as advertised. I already had an all-in-desktop Chrome OS machine. When I turned on the new machine and entered Google PW, everything was there. For now Google will support the OS until 2030. There is supposed be an updated OS available this month.
I have two chromebooks, but I wanted a desktop device to complement my older (Windows 10) and slow PC. I mainly use the G4 for email (web-based Outlook) and general web browsing. It works well for those tasks and I have added a few of my favorite Android apps. As with my chromebooks, it boots up almost immediately and it loads web pages quickly. One minor flaw is that the unit sometimes reboots with no warning. However, all of my tabs, etc., can be restored after an immediate and automatic reboot.
So far so good. It starts up in 11 seconds and shuts down in 10. Fast as can be online. I do wish companies like HP offered printers compatible with Chromebooks.
